I was just minding my own business reading an article on Salon, when I was hit with this strange ad for Altavista. Always on the look out for new headlines, I clicked it and found my way to the standard Altavista Live! page. Not to be stopped, I immediately ran a search for "CANADA DECLARES WAR". What did I find? No news of warmongering Canucks, but I did learn that Indiana declared war on Snow in May of 1996!!!

Two nights ago, I had a dream someone dropped chuck of concrete block on my friend James's head. Luckily he could still walk, and hospital was just next door, because I helped him hobble into the reception area. I screamed "Head trauma! We've got a head trauma!" from the top of my lungs until a young orderly came over with a hospital bed and a old fashioned hand drill. I couldn't watch and had to run outside to escape the repating sounds of the bit inching slowly into James's head. Once outside, though, I had a realization, and ran back inside. "Trepanation," I said. "Have you heard of it?" I asked the orderly. Yes of course. James just looked up. "James," I said, looking into his serene expression just inches from the drill jutting from the hole in his head. "When the drill breaks through, tell me if you feel euphoric or smarter!" There the dream ended, and I awoke.
