Today is the last day to vote for the Scripting News Awards. Here are my votes:

Best Technology Weblog: Segway News. This weblog if nothing else illustrates what weblogs are all about: personal publishing that's cheap, fast and ranks higher in Google than most of the bigcos.

EditThisPage.Com Pioneers: Black Hole Brain. Other than Scripting News, this is the only EditThisPage weblog I read consistently all year long.

Gone But Not Forgotten: Netdyslexia. This was a fun site and at the time it really helped to broaden my perspective. It was almost unbelievable that on the other side of the world were a group of people who so reminded me of my friends from high school.

Best Scripting Weblog: Sorry, I don't read any of these weblogs. :(

Best Weblog Utility/Distraction: Google. Weblogs have changed the nature of the web, and Google has come right behind this change. Weblogs change all the time and link to widely diverse topics. Google responds by indexing many weblogs and the sites they link on a daily basis. Google used to release a new update of its database every 28 days. Now, Google's results are changing on a daily basis, due in large part to the links from weblogs.

Blogger Of The Year: Rageboy. This one was difficult. I wanted to vote for Cam just so he could turn down the award and spit on the whole idea of Dave's Awards, but then I started reading Rageboy's log. I read and read and read. He get's it. He get's the whole notion of weblogs as the insane purveyors of guerilla marketing. (Now this isn't to say that all of the other nominees don't get it -- Rageboy just gets it, and explains it in such a way that I can point marketing people there and maybe they'd get it.)
