Northern Nevada - Repeat of last year's infestations expected: "Mormon crickets are hatching by the millions across Northern Nevada, promising a summer of infestations at least equal to those of last year, experts said. During a drought a decade ago, about 1.2 million acres in the Winnemucca area were overrun by insects in the worst infestation there since the 1930s. The insects damaged crops, briefly shut down Interstate 80 and nearly invaded downtown Winnemucca."
