Fueled by Drought, Wildfire Gets...

Fueled by Drought, Wildfire Gets Closer to Denver: "After starting on Saturday as a campfire, a fast-moving wildfire in central Colorado had scorched its way through nearly 120 square miles of forest land by today. It swept to within 50 miles of metropolitan Denver, and the local authorities warned thousands that they might have to evacuate their homes. The wildfire was the largest of eight burning around the state and was expected to grow as part of what federal fire officials were calling the worst start to any summer fire season in memory. By tonight, none of the wildfire had been contained, and some firefighters were pulled off the front lines because of its intensity. A shift of winds, however, turned the fire back on itself tonight, and the threat of evacuations eased somewhat."
