Loyd said, "A new day has dawned for Creative Services as we now have an organized section, the Media Storage Unit, where our media (vhs, dvd, mini dv, cd, and special print materials) may be kept in an organized manner. The system involves a database created by Mr. Carlson that will track who has checked out the media and where it is at now. Please do not remove media without first checking it out through the database. Also be sure that you check the media back in when you are done using it. Please do not leave media laying around as it will disappear and is irreplaceable. Each item is individually labeled with an Media Identification Number (MIN) on the outside of the case and on the media. Smaller items such as MiniDV's are kept in an envelope with a Media Identification Sheet (MIS) affixed to the outside. The tape and the case as well as the envelope all have the Media Identification Number (MIN) on it. Media Identification Sheets (MIS) also contain such information as the date of the project, location of the shoot, camera person, media type, content type and a brief description. Future plans include the construction of more shelving units to hold more media as space is at a premium. We also intend to move all blank media into the Media Storage Unit(MSU) where it can be tracked and ordered to maintain stock on an adequate level. Please keep the Media Storage Unit (MSU)clean and organized that it may continue to be a useful and time saving tool. For more information or to check out media, please see Mr. Carlson or me."
