How to Take Simple (and fast) Screenshots in Windows 2000/XP
- Find Paint. Its in Start, then Programs then Accessories.
- Right click on its shortcut.
- Select Properties.
- In Shortcut Key type the letter "P". "Cntrl + Alt" will be automatically added. Press OK.
- Pressing the CONTROL, ALT and P at the same time will now open Paint. Close it if you have it open.
- Press the PRINT SCREEN button to capture the entire screen, or ALT and PRINT SCREEN to capture just the current window.
- Press CONTROL, ALT and P
- Paint is now open. Press CONTROL and V.
- Most likely, a window will up saying "The image in the clipboard is larger than the bitmap. Would you like the bitmap enlarged?" Press ENTER for yes.
- Your screenshot is now visible in Paint.
- Press CONTROL and S.
- Name your file.
- Select Graphics Interchange Format (*.gif) in the 'Save as type' field.
- Choose a place to save your screenshot.
- Press return.
- Congratulations on your screenshot. Feel free to email it.
