More information on the Google Search Appliance: "The Google Search Appliance features integrated hardware and software to provide unparalleled search quality as well as ease of set up and use for administrators. It just works, right out of the box."
I've manually published all of this months archive pages now that I'm here at work. This should fix the permalink problem for the time being. I need to build a page so that I can do this from anywhere.
Dave says, "Dane you got bit by the bug Jake is working on right now. Your archive page didn't get published apparently. Sorry about that. We're working on it. Oy." Thanks! Glad to know I'm not crazy.
My permalinks don't seem to be working... strange.
Patrick Lioi thinks it would be neat if via Google "you could search a special index of pages that syndicate via RSS feeds." Well, Patrick, this search will pull up every RSS feed in Google that includes the word "linux" that has been updated in the last 30 days. Is this the sort of thing you want?
FBI Issues New Terror Warning: "The FBI issued an extraordinary terrorist alert Monday night, asking law enforcement and the American public to be on the lookout for a Yemeni man and several associates who might be plotting a terrorist attack as early as Tuesday."
Google Appliance: "Make your company's search capability as good as Google's-and just as easy to use. The Google Search Appliance integrates hardware and software to create a plug-and-play solution that takes minutes to install and can be maintained easily by one administrator."
Seven tricks that Web users don't know: "When I first noticed that the majority of users didn't click logo links, I wasn't sure whether they didn't know about them or knew but simply didn't use them. To find out, I started asking users whether they knew that the logo was a link to the home page. (I'm always careful to ask this kind of question at the end of a usability test, otherwise I could change the very behavior I'm trying to observe.) Sure enough, most of the non-clickers confirmed that they didn't know this trick." from Micheael Webb

Google in a Box: "Google is introducing its new search "appliance" today, a pizza-box size unit that contains the full Google search functionality for internal networks and intranets. Designed to compete head-to-head with site search tools offered by industry titans such as Verity and Inktomi, the Google appliance differs in that it's an integrated hardware/software product that needs comparatively little configuration to put into action." I created a discussion at Webmaster World -- maybe someone will have some more information.
